Interested in a space in the mall let us know
Band members are invited to build their businesses with us
we want to customize the mall to fit your need
If your not a band member
and are interested in space
Dont hesitate to let us know to see if we can
accommodate your request

Complex: whole building
Auditorium: youth center
Arena: rink area

highway view of the facility
Arena
Condition
Upon my inspection of the arena it is in
good shape, the foundation is very good and so the structure is safe
and has not sagged, the interior floor space is bad in some spots but
over all the floor is in good condition except for some cracks and
heaveing which the Band should fix.
For our use it will be good if repaired
The size of the arena area is
120 x 200= 24000 square feet , rink is
175x75= 13125
the village area
will contain a tribute to the 1850 RST and all bands in the
described area having a display for each for their arts and craft, and
will be surrounded by a replicated Indian village
many businesses can be located in the arena
area, we need to plan out how we would like to renovate it to fit the
businesses we could put in there now and in the future. There are a
limited amount of businesses that can be feasible, but who knows we
might have some good ideas while discussing this. an area
is committed to the Boyz
a theme to the shopping center as an Indian
Village, a walk through RST 1850 and their arts and craft, make it a
learning experience, Something like the
John Long story, the drive through Pays Plat traditional territory
should also be a learning experience of the pays plat of old and new,
of the customs and traditions and storys
Need more work on this as i believe a theme will be
a big deal in advertising the mall and in telling the public our
history of the RST 1850 and pays plat (Pawgwasheeng) we have a lot of
documented history on pays plat
the name
the two chiefs
Two chiefs was chosen as we want to
make the mall theme about the 1850 Treaty, the bands in it, and the
history of pays plat from the most historical event in pays plats
existence the change of the custom chief to the indian affairs
election of chief.
we will get everything historically
correct
we will address
Management of the facility
the bands contribution to the project that will benefit the community,
and assist investors to make a success of this project.
business needs to work closely with the Band
council to protect our interest as tax free status, no band council
should ever be able to tax their members or allow their members to be
taxed on our territories. The band needs to condone and assist
business on reserve but never regulate it, that is up to the people
investing their money. the band council is our government and should
protect member interests within government agencies
Open Concept
indoor shopping year round
Renovating the inside of the Arena
RST 1850 Treaty theme
a small ojibwa village could
be setup up as an attraction to sell Indian craft from regional indian
communities, or reserves
and access the stores within, We can Feature, Lake Helen, Rocky Bay, Fort
william, Gull bay, whitesand ect , with their own areas for sales of their
crafts.from their people,
Displays
I want to share the early history
and the most important time in Pays Plats recent history of when we went
from a custom chief Lawerence Mushquash to an Indian Affairs elected Chief
Gerald N Bouchard as a part of the theme of the mall
the missing history
and that the people here up until
the late traditional custom Chief Mushquashes death have a claim against
all three right of way holders going across the Pays Plat Reservation and
must persue it as their custom band with their custom chief
consignment website to sell

The bands and their arts and craft
have each band in the RST area a
display 4x8 for their bands crafts, it will display a short history
of the band and display their arts and craft for sale , it will be
designed by them and history done by them.
Band needs to advertise Pays
Plat traditional territories along the highway
We need to have a theme that is
interesting to the public and we need to tell our history of the
treaty and of pays plat along the highway
Pays plat traditional territories begin
close to dead horse creek east and gurney to the west
We need to advertise that and tell a story of pays plat along the
way.

The Village shopping can
include items made by local community craftsman/woman from other native
communities, sales out of the teepe's there are numerous ideas that we can
do,
or we could rent the
floor space once business picks up to local vendors, small shops
some stores that could be put into the mall
Stores with * are more feasible
These
are the ones we are committed to so far.

Store spaces
Our design will be within the arena structure and should be relatively
cheaper to construct as it will not need full roofs but hanging cielings, the floor is there,
the walls, windows, doors, and electrical need to be considered. walls to
seperate stores need to be constructed.
the businesses will be built within the arena, there will be no load
bearing walls, units will be insulated . heated, and lighting provided
heating the Village shopping area
in the winter could consist of a big wood burning stove on the interior
with a nice meeting, standing area where people can drink coffee, talk ect. and lots of air circulation. sitting area, ect. this would also support the wood lot
Smokin
Embers who will supply us with the wood needed to heat thousands of
square feet of visitor space. The band should agree to keeping the heat to
at least sixty in the arena area
Store space can be rented to band
and non band members who may want to put a business in the two chiefs Ojibwa
Village Shopping mall
how are we going to pay for the renovations?
the initial renovations might be around 200 -
250 thousand dollars to a point
where we can open it for shopping, that is not counting inventory,
self financed. I beleive that would be the best option, more people can be involved to make the
investment a smaller amount,
The Arena will be the
responsibility of and under the management of the Bouchard group of Pays Plat family members
who invest in this venture.
the businesses can be individually
owned or partnerships,
This business will be managed by its investors
We are asking the Band to allow
the Bouchard investors group to manage the Arena for the use of
developing business in pays plat and training of youth in business.
The Bouchards Funding of the Arena
renovations to an Ojibwa Village mall has been approved up to
500.000.00 subject to the bands approval for the Bouchard Group to manage
the arena which must be brought up to par.
This is a long term investment
into the growing community, we need long term guarantees to make this work
and a helping band council.
The Funding for the renovations
will be from the Bouchard Group who will manage the facility
What needs to be done
by the band
The Boards for the hockey rink,
glass have to be sold and proceeds donated to the youth center
We could start looking for a
buyer for the boards anytime if the band requests that we look for one.
Parking lot
should be constructed Paved by the Band and maintained through out
agreement
it needs to be paved or it will just be a run down business,
to most
customers, you dont like to get out of y our car and have to clean your
carpets everytime you go there.
all internal damage on concrete
floor in the arena should be repaired by the Band
Water and sewage needs to be
hooked up by band
building must be heated
Bathroom facilities
in the meantime
Green toilets, storage tanks, porta potties should be installed and
maintained by the Band
Electrical
any and all work
will be done to code
Band continues to pay electric and own building we will manage the
facility
a new electrical service will be
installed by developer/Bouchard for businesses
Band should hold insurance on the
blg and we can add additional coverage if and when needed.

rest on here is ideas, and available if you want to invest in a business
there is alot of room but we need your input now so that we can figure out
the space requirements.
Signs
We will need to make a decision on
the style and cost of signs on highway and on building, using mylogo for
the Bouchards

Benefits of this proposal to the community
besides bringing a building that
has sat deteriorating for a dozen years to life, with a new purpose, it will
provide a place where the youth can congregate, build business and
socialize , providing the mall visitors with a variety of take out items
and a huge sit down eating area.
it will be a great spot to get
everything you need for the community, dont even have to cross the road,
the youth center would also have
games like pool, video games ect that they can make money with,
the Two Chiefs / ojibwa Village
shopping mall would provide the community with much wanted and needed
items conveniently, no having to drive hours for them,
training
opportunities in retail and service for the young, we will require
tellers, sales people ect, which eventually will lead to a training center
The Band too must invest in this,
by bringing the building and parking up to par as their contribution to
this community investment which will benefit the community immensely and
finally give the arena a new life.
our market is Rossport, Selim,
Nipigon Bay, Gurney point Pays Plat, and hundreds of cars and trucks that
flow through the reserve daily, many whom are native people, hungry and
looking for somewhere to shop
We need to discuss the trucks
also, and what we can do for them possibly on the Southside of the
highway.
